Navigating Your First 90 Days Onboard at CruiseControl, we understand that the first few months onboard can be challenging for newly hired crew members. To ensure a smooth transition and comprehensive onboarding experience, we are excited to announce the launch of Cruise Rookie Journey, an innovative tool designed to guide new crew members through their initial 90 days at sea.

Visual Roadmap for Seamless Onboarding The Cruise Rookie Journey tool is crafted to visually resemble a ship’s journey from port to port, symbolizing the milestones new crew members will achieve during their onboarding process. This roadmap not only provides a clear and engaging visual representation of their journey but also ensures they receive the necessary training, support, and resources.

Key Features and Functionalities

1. Interactive Milestones: Each milestone is represented by a port icon on the roadmap, marking significant periods such as Embarkation Day, the first week onboard, the second week, and so on up to the third month and Cruise Rookie Graduation. Crew members can click on each port icon to view and interact with a checklist of required activities, trainings, and meetings.

2. Customizable Checklists: Checklists for each milestone can be customized to include free-text entries, links to activities within CruiseControl (e.g., e-learning courses, surveys, performance reviews), and external activities (e.g., in-person safety training). Items on the checklist can be ticked off manually for external activities or automatically when completed within CruiseControl.

3. Integrated Notifications: The tool includes a notification system that sends reminders for scheduled activities, ensuring crew members never miss a crucial training or meeting.

4. Supervisor Access: Supervisors can view the progress of crew members on their roadmap, ensuring oversight and support throughout the onboarding process. This feature enhances communication between new hires and their supervisors, fostering a supportive onboarding environment.

5. Cruise Rookie Graduation: Upon completing all milestones and spending 91 days onboard, crew members will receive an e-certificate, signifying their successful onboarding. This certificate can be downloaded as a PDF for their records.
